How to use the lists comparison tool
- 1Paste the first list into List A and the second into List B, one item per line.
- 2Set Ignore case, Ignore spaces around items and how Items are separated by.
- 3Under Show, choose In both, Only in A, Only in B or All unique; each label shows its count.
- 4Press Copy or Download for the group you need.

Default settings. “Dev@Example.com” matches “dev@example.com” because case is ignored; the duplicate ben@example.com in A is counted once.
Items in both lists
In both lists the items that appear in A and in B, the intersection. Use it to find customers who appear in two exports, keywords you already rank for, or products listed with two suppliers. Results keep the order and spelling of List A.
Items in only one list
Only in A shows items missing from B (the difference A − B), for example subscribers who haven't been imported yet; Only in B shows the reverse. Together they're everything the two lists don't share. Swap lists exchanges A and B if you pasted them the wrong way round.
Union of both lists
All unique combines both lists with every duplicate removed: the items of A in their original order, followed by the items only in B. It's the quickest way to merge two mailing lists or keyword sets without doubles. To deduplicate a single list, use remove duplicate lines, and to put the result in order, sort lines.
Matching options: case, spaces, empty lines
- Ignore case (default) matches “Dev@Example.com” with “dev@example.com”. Email addresses are effectively case-insensitive, so keep this on for email lists.
- Ignore spaces around items (default) stops invisible trailing spaces from spreadsheets from causing false differences.
- Empty lines are always ignored, and duplicates within a list count once.
- Items are separated by can also split on commas or on any whitespace, for lists pasted as a single line.
